Rodrigo B. Vimieiro is an AI Research Engineer at Real Time Tomography LLC (RTT), specializing in artificial intelligence, computational imaging, and medical image reconstruction.

He received his B.Sc. degree in Biomedical Engineering from the National Institute of Telecommunications (Inatel), Brazil, in 2016. During his undergraduate studies, he spent one year as an exchange student at Wayne State University and the University of Illinois Chicago, United States. He earned his M.Sc. degree from the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil, in 2018, and completed his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at USP in 2023. His doctoral research focused on model-based deep learning methods for restoring low-dose Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT) images.

From 2021 to 2022, he was a Visiting Scholar at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), working with Prof. Ge Wang’s research group on deep learning and computational imaging methods for Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT), Computed Tomography (CT), and related medical imaging applications.
